Orange City, IA - A supplier of dog, cat and bird products is doubling its office space in Orange City as part of a project expected to create 20 new jobs.

Revival Animal Health plans to build a 5,400-square-foot addition to its office area, which now covers about 6,000 square feet. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday.

In a news release Thursday, president Roy Nielsen said work on the project will begin immediately.

"The additional space is needed to provide more room for the growth of our marketing, e-commerce, graphics and telephone sales teams,'' Nielsen said in a statement.

Revival Animal Health has been based in Orange City since 1995, when Roy Nielsen III purchased the home-based business from his parents, Louise and Dr. Roy Nielsen Jr.

Its original mission of supplying products to dog and cat breeders has expanded to include a team of more than 50 employees, supplying in excess of 2,500 pet items and to breeders, shelters, groomers, pet stores and pet owners across the country.

In 2003, Revival moved from a smaller facility in Orange city to a 29,000-square-foot facility in the city's industrial park at 1700 Albany Place.

In 2005, the company launched its Doc Roy's line of pet care products. Two years later, the firm purchased Great Companions, a Minnesota-based bird supply company, and relocated it to Orange City.
