Construction Moves Along on Kingsley State Bank Facility

2/08/2009

While weather has affected the construction timeline, Don Hoogeveen, manager and vice president of Kingsley State Bank in Le Mars expects to move into their new building on Twelfth Street Southwest about July 1.

"The weather has been a factor in the building process," said Hoogveen. Construction on the bank facility began in October 2008.

Hoogeveen said the bank has outgrown its current facilities at 850 12th St. S.W.
"We were running out of file capacity, we needed to do something," Hoogeveen said.

Hoogeveen has been with Kingsley State Bank since its beginning in Le Mars, where it started as a finance company in 2002, formed with the intent to merge into the bank.

The office of Kingsley State Bank in Le Mars was opened in 2003. There are currently five employees at the Le Mars bank. Hoogeveen said the Le Mars community has been good to the bank.

"It's really fit our bank well and is a great climate to do business in," he said. "We feel we have been received very well. We're grateful for that." Kingsley State Bank was started in 1883, and has been owned by the Phelps family of Kingsley since 1889.
