Hales Guitars relocating to downtown Sutherland
01/15/2008
Expanding to include Amped Up Café and Ebay trading assistant businesses
Primghar, Iowa, January 14, 2008 –Dan and M. Mellisa Hale, owners of Hales Guitars, will soon have room for growth in their new location – downtown Sutherland. In just three short years, Hales Guitars has outgrown its home-based location. Their new location--an existing downtown building, will also house the new Amped Up Café, which will be the only establishment in Sutherland serving a hot breakfast along with gourmet and regular coffee and light lunches or snacks. Live entertainment will be offered on Fridays and Saturdays with open microphone nights as well as guest bands and individuals. Since Hales Guitars already has a thriving online business, selling guitars and amplifiers on Ebay and through their website, www.halesguitars.com, an Ebay trading assistant was the logical choice for another companion business. Community members will be able to gain assistance in listing and selling their items on Ebay.
O’Brien County Economic Development, in conjunction with the O’Brien County Revolving Loan Fund Committee has approved financing for this new business endeavor. Revolving Loan Fund funds are used to attract, retain or expand business or industry. Revolving loan funds may be used for the following: Land purchases, Building purchases, Building Construction, Machinery purchases, Equipment purchases and any other uses deemed appropriate by the RLF Committee.
O’Brien County Economic Development Executive Director, Kiana Johnson, said, “O’Brien County Economic Development Corporation is very pleased we were able to support this endeavor. Hales Guitars, along with their two companion businesses, will fill a needed niche in Sutherland. Not only will they be a great asset to downtown Sutherland, but they will be an exciting addition to O’Brien County.”
